It's February 1st and we are quickly moving through the start of 2018! Have you kept to all of your New Year's resolutions? I won't make this post about that at all, instead I want to give 5 Tips for Having the Best Year yet!

1 year = 365 opportunities

#1: Be Ready for Change

I feel as though this is the number one more difficult thing for people to get around and one of the most important things to actually help launch you into greatness. I spoke a little bit about this in my latest update to my post Happiness is a Mindset + How I got to Believing That, but I feel the need to go more in depth. Change isn't easy in really any aspect of your life. Even if its a fun change it can still come with struggles & newness which I think is why so many people have such a fear about it. without change you fail to see the difference life can bring and you fail to ever get into the newest and greatest aspects of your future. By entering a New Year ready for change and really ready to embrace that change, you've already jumped over one of the biggest hurtles. Once I accepted the fact the change was bound to happen ALWAYS it made me actually quite excited for it. I saw the good that comes from it (alongside sometimes the not so good) and found that change only brought better things to my future. Which brings me to my next point...

#2: Focus on the Good

This right here (I feel) can be one of the most difficult depending on the day. It's super easy to focus on the good whenever everything is going right, but on the days where the world seems to be sitting on your shoulder it takes a lot of self talk to get you in that right mindset. One thing I do every morning regardless of my mood is pick up my Jesus Calling book and read the daily devotion for that day. It truly helps remind me that there is a plan, there is someone looking out for me each minute of each day, and there is always good to see, but less face it your alive! That, babes, is a win in itself. Whether you're religious or not, find something that sets your mind in the right direction first thing in the morning so when you start having your mind wonder to everything bad, you can have a simple reminder of the good.

#3: Know it's okay to Fail

Failing isn't easy for anyone. No matter how big or little the fail is it usually hits your heart and messes with your brain more than you'd think or even want to believe. I still can't say I am fully okay with this yet, but the more I preach it the easier it has become for me to believe. Knowing it's okay to fail and believing that form the fail can still come success is so important for hitting yearly and even lifetime goals. Just because every door doesn't open in your favor or work at exactly how you planned, doesn't mean its necessarily a bad thing. Without fail there can be no growth and without growth... You might drive yourself crazy. I wrote a post about called Worry Less, Do More and I definitely believe that taking the constant worry out of your everyday life falls right into being okay with failing. If you're constantly doing and always trying to push to the next level one fail won't seem as big of a deal.

Every failure is a lesson. If you're not ready to fail, you're not ready to succeed.

 #4: Do What Makes you Happy

Doing what makes you happy seems like it should be really easy, but self love is something tons of people struggle with on a daily basis. Sometimes I trick myself into thinking I'm doing something for me or that I'm happy in a situation only to look back and realize I really wasn't. This is actually one of my goals this year, focusing on what I truly want in life and what really helps spark the light within me. I also want to focus on self love even if its as simple as just taking a bath or being alone and quiet with a book for an hour. I believe with those little changes comes the bigger changes of truly falling in line with things that make you heart happy. Its time to take charge of your life because you only have one and you never know when that will be taken from you. So why do something you hate?

#5: Above all else, Love Yourself

Again babes, self love is one of the most important aspects of the 5 tips for having the best year. Without loving the weird, quirky, funny, cute, inspiring and super hard working woman you are... How do you truly except to hit any of the goals you've set? I'm not saying its easy, but by being ready for change, focusing on the good, being prepared to fail, and start doing what you really love... You are bound to fall in love with who you are and the greatness that you give out into this world. Loving yourself opens you up to loving others which opens you up to so much greatness you won' t even be able to handle it; Obviously in the best way possible.

I found out that my weirdness was something that ended up radiating out of me and onto others in the most positive light. Read more about the Importance of Embracing your Weirdness and I'm sure you'll be dancing around like a fool in know time!

    Great stuff! The tip that stands out to me is not being afraid to fail. I think that our generation has in particular been taught perfectionism, and it’s a hard habit to get over. I FINALLY learned in the last couple of years that it’s OK to fail and my life is so much better for it! Cheers to an amazing 2018.
