Why Floral Print Will Never Go Out of Style + My Easter Sunday Look

I am a big lover of florals in fashion and in real life. It's something about the look, colors and vibes that flowers or floral print gives off. It just makes me happy and I know I don't stand alone in that belief. Whenever Spring comes around floral prints come out to play and I think we're all a bit obsessed. People will make comments like, "Oh shocker, floral for Springtime", as if they're not proud of the cute look they created. To be honest, floral print will never go out of style and I'm not ashamed to say that.

I've already added at least 3 new floral print pieces to my closet and I can't wait to keep rocking them all season long. I also added a pair of Coach flats that have little tea rose appliqué on the strap. How cute is that? Although, floral print is big every Spring season I'm happy to see it hit hard this year. It seems everywhere I look someone is wearing a floral skirt, a floral dress or an adorable embroidered floral top. Whatever the piece is it sure makes a statement and I don't think it will ever go out of style.

Floral Print has been around for 1000 of Years

I was so surprised to read up on some of the history behind floral fabrics in the fashion industry. Floral fabrics started in Japan and China and quickly started spreading through the rest of the world in 1400s & 1500s. How cool is that? To think that some of the prints we are wearing now being made up from prints so long ago is something not many people think about. Floral prints have been a huge piece in fashion for 1000 of years and I don't see it going anywhere.

It's even super interesting to look back through the past 100 years and see how floral prints have evolved. I think some of my favorite prints definitely lived in the 60s and 70s. The colors were so vibrant then and as you guys know I'm a huge boho lover. I always tell my mom that we were actually supposed to be sisters because I was totally supposed to live in that time. Anyway, floral print has come through so many years of different patterns, styles and colors so thinking it will go out of style is silly in my eyes.

Floral Print is a Symbol of Femininity

This was another thing I learned when looking up the history of floral in the fashion industry. On startupfashion.com they talked about how flowers held a really deep meaning a symbolism that people wanted to inspire others with through clothing. Flowers are a huge part of the Asian culture which is why floral prints originated from there. I personally think it's pretty obvious that floral prints give off a feminine vibe and I love every minute of it.

It's not always easy to wear really feminine pieces in fashion or something everyone wants to pull off. Thats why I am a huge lover of floral. It's makes being feminine something everyone can pull of in such a simple way. If you're not feeling a full floral dress like the Target one pictured here then rock small floral details on your shoes or purse. Any type of pop will help bring a chic and girly style to any look whether you like being super feminine or not. Fashion that works for everyone is always a win in my eyes.

Floral Print Comes in so Many Different Textures, Colors & Styles

So obviously I'm a huge fan of floral print. Luckily the best thing about it is the millions of different textures, colors and styles you have to choose from. Again, this makes it super easy for anyone to wear it and makes styling different pieces even more fun. I have been really getting into the extra feminine floral pieces that come in girly soft tones and pretty delicate patterns. Something about Springtime that makes pinks, whites and pastels way more fun to wear.

If you've never tried floral print or haven't felt like it fits you, try it out! It seriously works for everyone and with so many options to choose from its hard to think of not being able to find something. Also, focus on small details if you don't what to wear a full look.

About the Look

As I noted in my post Learning How to Style the Bump, I am a huge fan of dresses lately. I mean, I always have been, but they seem to be the easiest of all things for pregnancy. I was super pumped when I found the boutique Pink Blush because they have so many options and a ton of cute styles. I feel lucky that maternity clothes are so fashionable these days. I couldn't image not being able to wear the things you want to. This floral dress was the perfect look for Easter Sunday with all the soft pastel hues. There is just something about Easter and pastels that go hand in hand. I also loved doing the pop of purple with my shoe and extra floral with the purse. I mean, you can never been to extra with purple and flowers right?

The pearl bracelet you see was given to my from my sweet husband on our 2 year wedding anniversary. We like to celebrate the traditional things that go behind each anniversary and the 2 year marks the cotton anniversary. This pearl is actually fully made out of cotton. How cool is that? I was so taken back and wear it on so many special occasions, Easter Sunday being one.
