The First of Many

Marriage. One word with a million & one things behind it. Marriage is amazing. It's such a beautiful commitment between two completely different people that fall so deeply in love they want to commit LIFE together. Crazy, right? Magical... But sooo intense; in the best way possible. When you truly think about marriage and the commitment between, like I said, two completely different people it sounds pretty insane. Days on my own can be difficult... Lets just throw a whole separate perfect soul into the mix and make it work. Again... crazy!!

Anyone who knows me well, knows I just looooove, love. Marriage is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. It's something I've dreamed about my whole life. I just wanted to be in love with someone who loved me just as deeply back and I am so thankful every day that I have that. This first year of marriage has been the greatest year ever. We named it "The Year of Doing" (Which I talked about in a previous post here) and we have been busy living life to the fullest and trying to fit in as many different and new things as possible.  But I get it. I totally get why some people think marriage is crazy because it is. This year has not been perfect. We have gone through so many different ups and downs with so many different things. Whats crazy to me, is we continue to learn something new about each other every day still! You would think 6 years would be long enough to understand someone completely, but I can proudly say it's not (I can't imagine what I'm going to know about Kirby when we're 70 ha!). That is kind of the main point that makes me think marriage is the most CRAZY and amazing thing ever. You are committing to spending the rest of your life with one person. One whole completely different person. With a whole different brain and personality and thoughts. It's crazy to think that Kirby and I are going to see the best and the worst of everything together. We're going to have amazing days and months and years and also bad ones. I've come to realize that I think that's my favorite thing about marriage. That it's not just this perfect and put together world. It's hard work and it's always striving to be better the next day and the next month and the next year. It's embracing the new things you learn every day and rolling with it...

I am by no means an expert on marriage. I simply have been married for one special year and have tried so hard to stay in tune with my soul and learn the true emotions and things that go behind committing your life to another person. Love is a beautiful thing and love is a lot of work, but when it's right it is truly a work of art.

I obviously had to share pictures from our wedding day 🙂 I still can't believe it has already been one full year! Thank you again to all the amazing people and business we worked with! You truly all helped create the most perfect day for us.
