The holiday season is a great time to sit back and reflect on everything we have to be thankful for. It's the perfect time to look at what we have, what we're doing and how we're living our best life. I love the holidays for so many different reasons. I think it's amazing to see people focusing on the good and becoming cheerful over the smallest things. Craziness can hit with schedules, shopping and over booking yourself, but the holidays don't have to be insane. I wanted to share 3 simple ways to give thanks this holiday season + an inside peak at my Thanksgiving Day look.
People forget how easy it is to show someone the love you have for them. You don't need to do big gestures all the time to remind your loved ones that you're thankful for them. Focusing on simple ways to show your thanks is the easiest thing to do. Life gets so busy and things fall off our radar way too easily. With having a newborn it's been hard always showing Kirby just how thankful I am for him. We both are doing so much each day to keep our family life going and its easy to take that for granted.
As the holiday hustle begins to set in its so important to remember to slow down and just be. I get really caught up in doing it all and with our sweet addition to the family I am getting even more lost in the mix of life. I'm trying to make it a priority this season (and after) to stop and remind Kirby just how thankful I am for everything he does. Even if it's a small hug and kiss, that small gesture can go a long way to build him up. Simple love is my favorite kind of love.
Acts of Kindness
Doing small acts of kindness can be the most simple way to brighten someones day. The best part is it almost always brightens your day as well. Just like giving love is important for simple ways to show your thankful, doing little things to show someone you thankful is also important. It could be as easy as smiling at someone, opening the door for a stranger or cooking a meal for your loved ones. Don't overthink it, but try to make it a priority daily.
This is something I have been meaning to get more into. I used to volunteer all the time and miss being active in the community. In our busy life it's really easy to forget the importance of giving our time to people less fortunate than us. The holidays are the perfect time to get back out there and remind yourself just how thankful you are for the life you live. It's my goal to get back into volunteering because helping the community, even in the smallest of ways, can make a big difference to other. I'm thankful for the life I've been blessed with and want to help shine my thankful heart into the lives of others.
Spread the holly jolly cheer babes!
