Mixing Prints Made Easy: 3 Ways

Have you ever been afraid to try a trend or type of style and then when you do, you're absolutely in love with it?! I've actually found myself in this position multiple times. I always overthink a new trend or anything too different from my basic wear. It kind of annoys me that I do that. I feel like I withhold from doing something and then fall in love with it when it's on it's way out of style... It's a vicious cycle.

When mixing prints started coming back in I was a bit skeptical. I wasn't sure how I felt about all the different details going into one look and I really wasn't sure if I could even pull it off. Well, this again is an example of something I need to stop overthinking and just do. Mixing prints is super fun and much easier than you'd think. I wanted to share three of my favorite mix print combos with you guys so if you were questioning the trend you could have someone basic & normal (like me) prove it's easy to achieve!

1: Stripes & Floral

I personally think this is the easiest of the mixes. Keep it simple. Pair a striped top with floral print shoes, a floral dress with a striped headband (or vice versa) or a floral dress and cute striped shoes.

2: Floral & Leopard Print

For me, leopard print is a neutral so I am constantly mixing this in with so many different looks, but it's also super easy to bring into floral looks to give them a bit more edge.

3: Stripes & Polka Dots

This is the most risky and difficult one (in my eyes). You can't just mix any striped piece with polka dots. Bold stripes are a lot net to a polka dot top, so maybe just add some small polka dots on a headband or purse. Slim stripes look fab with bold polka dots and keep in mind color plays a part, as well 🙂
