Booby Balls (Energy Bites)

Breastfeeding is exhausting and makes me hungry all the time. Having a quick and healthy snack that actually fills you up is important. These booby balls have been a staple for all 3 postpartum seasons I’ve gone through. Supposedly Brewer’s Yeast & flax seed help milk supply and I don’t see why having a yummy snack that may help milk supply is a bad thing. Plus, whenever chocolate is involved I’m all ears! These booby balls (or energy bites) are my favorite thing to snack on.

Booby balls are super easy to make and loaded with healthy ingredients making them the perfect little snack. When I’m early postpartum I’ll usually have 2-4 a day. Sometimes in the middle of the night and sometimes for breakfast with eggs. Later on in postpartum I’ll stick to 2 booby balls a day as a snack or paired with something else small. You can absolutely skip the chocolate chips to keep these sugar free.

If you have a friend or family member newly postpartum, these booby balls are the best gift to bring over. I like to double the recipe and then freeze all of them. They only take 5 minutes to defrost so no need to keep any in the refrigerator. If you’re not breastfeeding, these are still a great snack. Any mom needs that energy. You can simply leave the Brewer’s Yeast out.

Tip: Having a booby ball at the middle of the night feedings is elite. Original recipe I Can Teach my Child.
