It's the season of gifting giving, sparkly lights, yummy scents & way too many sweets! The holiday season is my absolute favorite time of year! This year seems to be in full force sooner than I can ever remember, but I don't hate it. An earlier start to decorating & gift buying means less stress, less running around and hopefully, a happier budget. My goal this year is to take more time buying gifts and planning out our decor to save myself from going crazy near the end. A budget friendly holiday season doesn't have to mean anything changes. Still lots of gift giving, sparkly lights, holiday smells and all the cookies you could ever want.
Since I know all of you love a good deal just a much as me, I'm so dang excited to share my budget friendly holiday home decor + gift guide from Dollar General. I had so much fun putting this together and seriously still can't believe everything I got for under $200!
Holiday Home Decor & Gift Wrapping
So many good finds I don't even know where to begin. We stocked up on the cutest holiday home decor & gift wrap from Dollar General. With the new home we have a lot more area to decorate which is fun, but can be pricey. Everything at Dollar General is super affordable which made decorating 2 different spaces a much easier thing to take on. We have a big porch and a beautiful entry way space so I chose to deck those out first because we have zero things to fill the spaces.
I was happily surprised by the amount of gift wrapping options available! We ended up going with a 4-pack of an assortment of gold, silver and black Christmas designs that I can't wait to wrap with. PSA: the gift boxes at Dollar General are the cutest things ever and so affordable!! Like, under $5 kind of affordable! I snagged boxes in all different sized to use for gifts, but also decorating (they're that cute!).
It's a goal of mine to start buying gifts early this year so I made sure to grab a few things each time I went these past couple weeks. The toy section was so good! Addison & I walked the aisle for awhile and I would be lying if I said that looking at all the LEGO's, Hot Wheels and Lion King toys didn't get me a little excited for what's to come. We did pick up a couple things for him now: Disney Mickey Mouse floor piano and Fisher Price Little People Airplane. Mickey Mouse is his all-time favorite thing right now and I can't wait to see his face when he opens it Christmas morning.
A few other gifts I bought: a Bluetooth travel speaker for Kirby, 4 pack of holiday hand soap, assortment of candles and of course, matching family pajamas (more about this below!).
With it being our first year in our very first home, Kirby and I are full of ideas on how we want to decorate, celebrate and if we plan to bring any new traditions into our home. One of my longtime favorite holiday traditions is new Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve night! It's something we've done in my family for as long as I can remember. This year, Kirby and I took it up a notch with matching family pajamas and I'm way more about it than I thought I would be. Plus, Kirby can't be mad when each set only cost $10!
