I will be the first one to say that my life is by no means 'in order' or at least doesn't feel that way everyday. I like to put on a brave face, cute clothes and make myself look like I have it all figured out, but don't we all? I, like a lot of you, have my days I feel like I'm on top of the world, owning everything I put my hands on and being a total girl boss. Other days... We'll let's just say, I'd rather not document those. I wanted to write about tips for how to keep your life in order {sort of} because to be honest I can't say I have all the answers, but I have learned a lot as an entrepreneur. For anyone who thinks they do have all the answer, feel free to chime in!

Some days are totally amazing. I get everything on my ever growing checklist complete, I'll cook dinner, clean the house and even have time to work out and chill with Kirby. Why can't every day be this way? Well, in my mind that kind of perfectly ordered life would get boring and wouldn't really be considered life at all. Life is meant to be messy and filled with a bunch of unknowns because we're not the ones totally running our lives. Yes, we have choices, but God has the plan.

Like I've stated in many other posts before (most recently 3 Ways to Start Loving Yourself More) there are good days and bad days. The bad days that leave me feeling like my life is completely unknown and chaotic is I guess what makes me a strong person? I have to end that with a question mark because I still am trying to figure that out myself. Check out below the tips I have on how to keep your life in order {sort of} + check out this adorable lavender Spring dress form The Mint Julep Boutique.

#1: Stop Thinking you can Do it All

To me, this is step one of how to get your life in order. Constantly thinking you can do it all and then stressing about not is an ugly circle of negativity. In the end you waste more time that could have been used accomplishing something else or relaxing. Both wins in me eyes. I struggle with thinking I can do it all on a weekly basis. I have my days where, to be honest, I actually do it all and feel so accomplished. Then there are the days where I don't accomplish it all or sometimes even come close to it and I 100% get down on myself. I talked a lot about negative self-talk in my latest post as well - 3 Ways to Start Loving Yourself More and I think it applies to so many aspects of your life. Negative self-talk and being a tough critic on yourself truly only set you back from your goals.

When you stop thinking you can do it all you start prioritizing the things that are really important for today day, week or month and in the end will accomplish more. You stop being so hard on yourself and stop putting yourself down which again lead you to doing more. When you feel proud of who you are, how you do things and proud of your everyday life... Life actually becomes easier. Also, when you stop thinking your perfect and can accomplish all things by yourself you begin to look to others for help which in turn teaches you more.

#2: Ask for Help When Needed

This right here is so hard sometimes. If you're anything like me, you're a perfectionist who would rather do things themselves than have the chance of disliking someone else ways. You feel as though you have all the answers and even if you don't, you know (think) you'll figure it out. Without asking for help your left to fend for yourself and left dealing with the stress alone.

Sometimes asking for help is totally needed and like I stated above will teach you even more through the process than if you go at it alone. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in the craziness that we even forget to ask for help or we feel lime it would be a burden on someone else. We just keep going and keep pushing until we hit our breaking point. What good is that? Learning to ask for help will only benefit you, your life and the relationships you have.

#3: Find a Process that Works for YOU

If you goggle how to keep your life in order I'm sure a million different posts come up with tactics, planners, systems, etc. that should help you, but not always. I was in a circle for a while of tying things out, thinking my life was in order and then stopping that process only to be back at square one. Why? Because that process was someone else's process that worked perfectly for their life and their responsibilities. I needed my own process and my own way of accomplishing things.

Yes, I do think taking one or two things from someone else's process is super beneficial as long as it then is fit back in to yours. One thing I learned about myself is that no matter how many apps, programs or fancy tech things were out there for lists making I needed to write them down. So I got a cute planner and started writing away and let me tell you checking that to-do list off is still my favorite thing to do!

Find something that works for you and make sure to stick with it. Don't feel out of the loop because you're not using the latest and greatest new organization tool. If writing it down is what keeps your life in order than find a process for that.

Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help and brave enough to ask for it.

#4: Stick to the List - Don't be Reactive

I think this definitely goes off of finding a process that works for you. Once your process is in place, you need to stick with it. My planner has a top 3 list and then a brain dump section for everyday. I usually use the morning or night before to write out the top 3 things to finish and then use the day to keep filling in the brain dump section with whatever else comes up. Thats the whole never ending to-do list things haha. What I find myself doing is reacting to the day and doing the random things that pop in my head instead of starting by crossing off the most important things. This backs me up all the time. It's hard to not always be reactive. Obviously some things pop up that need priority over other, but if you constantly live your life this way you're going to be running in circles and never feel fulfilled with finishing what you need done.

Email are something that get me always. You see the email notification and want to jump to it instead of finishing your thought on a different task. Sometimes I then get into a Hoel of a million different things only to get to the end of the day stressing about that one task I wanted to finish and didn't. It kind of makes me think of how we are with texting. Years ago texting wasn't a thing and people had to wait for you to call them back once you were done with your day, your errands or your tasks. Now, people get mad if you don't answer right away (me being one of them sometimes). Life is not meant to be this constant and it won't ever stop. So learning how to not be reactive all the time can help you in more ways than one.

#5: Breathe, Trust the Plan and Trust Yourself

If you remember a post I did last summer titled Worry Less, Do More you know by now I myself am a worrying. I've learned that trying to keep my life perfectly in order all the time comes with a lot of worry. Wasting time worrying is taking away from accomplishing more things, spending more time with my loved ones and spending more time on taking care of my mental health.

Like I stated in that previous post, worry gets you no where. You can't be perfect, you can't always accomplish it all and you can't be hard on yourself. None of these things will make you feel good because you'll either be complexly exhausted always, missing out on important family events or time and missing out on truly living. In order to be successful you also need to live. Remember that babes. Hopefully this post can help remind you that you're not alone with being all over the place, but that there is a way to feel more accomplished in-between chaos. Keep that chin up, find your own way and remember to trust.

You must tell yourself, 'No matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I'm going to make it.
