I love the holidays for so many different reasons, but one of my favorites is getting to play dress up in some of the most fun and festive pieces. It’s the perfect time of year to wear a little bit extra sparkle, a lot more red and whole lot of tulle… Because why not?! I’m sharing two adorable and super girly holiday tulle skirt looks using one simple black skirt to show you babes just how easy and fun it can be!

Tulle is such a fun material to play with in fashion and brings a little bit of a whimsical & playful vibe to any outfit. The other great thing about tulle is it makes the most fun and versatile skirts that can be used to create a whole closet full of different looks! I played a lot with color for both looks since black isn’t too festive in my book which was the opposite for my little red holiday dress. Bringing black into any bright look is an easy way to tone things down and show more of an edgy style without really trying to hard.

This red bodysuit was one of my favorite pieces over the summer so it was super fun to be able to work it into my holiday style. Its comfortable and a really fun bright red that makes you instantly stand out. The off the shoulder style is unique, flattering and so fabulous! The red was such a fun pop against the black holiday tulle skirt and instantly made the look festive.

Kirby and I sadly don’t have any holiday parties to go to this December, but we do have one or two in January that I can definitely see myself repping one of these looks at. The holidays are such a crazy time of year, but this year we actually did most of our traveling through the month of November so we are quite excited to have Christmas at home!

Anyone who knows us well, knows that both Kirby and I have a thing for being in the kitchen and a big issue with making way more food than ever necessary. It’s something that makes us happy and brings in a sense & feel of family so bring on the calories! If you're looking for a Holiday Recipe make sure to check out my Christmas Spritz Cookies.

I loved pairing my favorite emerald green suede jacket with the pretty gold sparkles and tulle skirt. I could definitely see this look working for NYE depending on what you’re doing. I obviously had to bring some purple into this look because it’s my favorite, but also to take the look away from Christmas and more into the New Year.

This jacket is super versatile which is another reason I have such a love for it. I styled it last year with OTK boots (and wear it like that normally) in my post about Layering Made Easy. Buying pieces that work for multiple occasions and with a variety of looks is definitely something I always look for… Especially while living on a budget! People fall into such a pattern of buying new things constantly that they forget the fun creative aspect of having to dream up new looks with the pieces you already have 🙂

My Favorite Stores in Cherry Creek Shopping Center + Why I Start There First Rather Than Online

Malls during the holiday season have such a bad reputation and to be totally honest, I'm kind of sick of it. Online shopping is great, don't get me wrong, but there is a certain magic and holiday spirit that comes with making a day out of Christmas shopping. Well, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have Cherry Creek Shopping Center as my mall in Denver. The amount of thought put into the holiday decor and the mini events held to bring holiday cheer front and center is amazing. I love interacting with people and watching the excitement that someone gets when they find the perfect gift. What ever happened to actually enjoying being around people for the Christmas season?! I love it and I love being able to talk through the mall surround by holiday spirit.

Another big plus? Cherry Creek Shopping Center is loaded with all of my favorite brands and stories. I listed out my top 10 shops + food spots to give you babes a reason to go to the mall... As if I need to!

Gift Idea with Meaning

My emerald green & gold Tory Burch bracelet is way more than just another cute piece of arm candy. This bracelet is a part of the Tory Burch Foundation and was created for the Embrace Ambition movement which focuses on empowering women to dream big. My sweet Dad bought one not only for me and my sisters, but also bought one for himself. He wanted to show us that as our father he supports us in every way possible and raised us to be powerful & strong in the choices we make moving forward. Receiving a gift like that truly made my heart smile and reminded me to continue pushing forward with the many dreams I have and to embrace my ambitions... Because I'm a girl boss; Duh.
